Resumen
Natural Organic Matter (NOM) cannot be completely removed from drinking water treatment’s plants (DWTP) by conventional physicochemical processes. NOM is refractory to biodegradation (xenobiotics) and can react with chlorine producing by-products (DBPs) which are hazardous and potentially carcinogenic [1]. This work evaluates the feasibility of application of the Catalytic Wet Hydrogen Peroxide Oxidation (CWHPO) process for removal of natural organic matter utilizing a synthetic model of NOM in the presence of Al/Fe-PILC clay catalyst (chosen particle size was 0.3 mm) in slurry reactor under continuous regime; physicochemical conditions of input stream resembled those typical in surface water. Starting from data of optimized condition under semi-batch regime, a central composite response surface experimental design was executed in order to improve the overall response of the system in terms of ……?? citar aquí brevemente los factores y covariables Optimal conditions for operation of the slurry reactor were: 6.2 g/dm3 of Al/Fe-PILC clay catalyst and 74 % of the stoichiometric percent with a residence time equal to 180 minutes. Esto debe ir en resultados….nunca en introducción
